![]() The names took a while for my Eurocentric brain to be able to tell apart and the author doesn't offer translations for words so you have to use context clues but it was an incredible book, spanning decades and madness and history and all these offshoots of one family and their own personal stories before it ties up in one knot at the end again. ![]() ![]() And also what I knew about Uganda could fit on the head of a pin, and now I know so much more, so easily. Kintu was on top of the list and I bought it because I love long sprawling tales that make the historical personal. This book was recommended to me by an algorithm, the "new better Goodreads" a website called The Story Graph, which takes what you're in the mood for, and your reading history and tosses up recommendations. ![]() Just finished this, becrumbed with flakes from the chicken patty I got for tea, what an indulgent Saturday. ![]()
